Apple pie

I love cooking, especially baking. Cakes, muffins, cookies – they are so delicious, mmm =)

So I want to share with you one of my favorite recipes.

Who loves apples and cakes, will definitely enjoy this tasty apple pie. This recipe is quite simple, and does not require much time and effort. So, let’s start)

pie

INGREDIENTS (for the 25 cm diameter form)

For the dough:

75 g butter or margarine

50 g sugar

1 egg

300 g flour

10 g baking powder

60 gr sour cream

For the filling:

3-4 apples

50 g sugar

25 g butter

2-3 tsp. cinnamon

50 g semolina

METHOD

Peel the apples, remove seeds. Cut into thin slices. In stewpan melt butter, pour into sliced apples, add sugar and cinnamon. Heat, stirring occasionally. When the sugar is completely melted, add the semolina, stir and leave to cool. Our filling is ready =)

Let’s do our dough for the pie. First, preheat the oven to 175-180°C. Grease the form with butter (margarine) or line the parchment paper.

In mixer bowl combine butter (margarine) with sugar, mix them till smooth consistency. After add the egg and sour cream, mix well. Then add the flour, baking powder and knead the dough.

Divide dough into 2 parts, 1 of which is slightly larger. Roll the large part into layer for bottom of our pie. Place it into the pan, obtaining small bumpers.

Spread the filling onto the dough. Roll the other part of dough into layer for a top for our pie. Place it onto the filling. Prick the surface of the pie with a fork in several places so it bakes good and has nice flat surface. You can use a little part of dough to cut out different figures to decorate the pie. Also you can cover the pie not only with solid layer of dough, but with strips.

Bake the pie for 25-30 minutes.

Then take out the pie and give cool down thoroughly. It’s recommended to cover pie with a kitchen towel to make the crust soft. Also you can moisten the still warm surface of the pie with sugar syrup, or sprinkle the apple pie with powdered sugar when it’s completely cool.

Bon appetit!
